Average Evaporation Minus Precipitation
[23-Feb-2009] This image shows average evaporation minus precipitation in millimeters per day (mm/day). Areas that are colored red are dominated by evaporation. The areas that are colored blue are dominated by precipitation. There is a correspondence between the red colors on the evaporation minus precipitation map and high salinity in the ocean. The blue areas on this map correspond to areas of relatively low sea surface salinity.
